Embedded Engineer Factory Operations
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Engineer to join our team in a dynamic factory environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the daily manufacturing operations by ensuring the proper functioning of embedded systems in our production processes. You will work closely with the manufacturing team, engineers, and technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve embedded system-related issues that may arise during production.You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new products by working closely with the engineering team to write test code and bring new products to life.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing systems to aid in the manufacturing of products.
- Developing bring-up code to validate new designs.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting embedded system-related issues in the production environment, ensuring minimal disruption to the manufacturing process.
- Collaborating with the manufacturing team to identify root causes of system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Assisting in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Documenting troubleshooting procedures, solutions, and lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Supporting the implementation of firmware and hardware updates or changes to improve system performance.
- Working alongside cross-functional teams to optimize embedded systems for reliability, efficiency, and performance in production.
- Assisting with the validation of new embedded designs and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Providing training and technical support to manufacturing staff on embedded system operations and best practices.
- Continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing enhancements to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
The Embedded Engineer position will be a fundamental part of the NPI team, working closely with production teams to maintain the highest standards of operational efficiency and quality in factory settings.
Skills and qualifications
Prerequisites
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a suitable area, e.g., computer science, automation, mathematics, physics, electronics, or relevant hands-on experience.
- Understanding of embedded systems supported by 3+ years of work experience in embedded software development and/or testing.
- Good skills in C/C++.
- Good skills in Python.
- Core Knowledge: Solid understanding of electronics circuit design, layout, and circuit theory principles.
- Good communication skills and proactive attitude.
- Fluent English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Qt, Robot Framework, DevOps, scripting languages.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS or other RTOS for embedded devices.
